Because you have a spine…

I recently had a new patient who is just 6 weeks old.  His parents brought him in for a check up.  As we assessed his perfect little body, we found some areas that were a little out of balance neurologically.  This could have been caused from his position in utero, or from the delivery process, or from sleeping in a car seat. It doesn’t really matter.  With gentle network contacts his body relaxed and he went home and had a “massive sleep” that day according to his mom.

Another member of our practice realized that I was seeing such a little baby and asked the question, “How did his parents know to bring him in?”  This practice member saw the value of Network Care for herself, but it had been an injury that brought her to our office.  Implied in the question was “Is there something wrong with the baby that would make his parents seek care?”

I answered her question with a question.

How do you know if you should see a dentist?  Because you have teeth.

In the same way:  How do you know if you should see a chiropractor?  Because you have a spine.

Our spine and nervous system control every other aspect of our health, and it is essential to have them in optimal working order.  Don’t wait for symptoms to appear- for yourself or for your children!  When we are proactive in our health, we can prevent future injuries and degeneration.  Regular assessments with Network Care are an integral part of being proactive.

If you get your car wheels balanced regularly, the tires will wear evenly and will wear out less quickly.  You are less likely to get a flat from a bald part of the tire that has worn down by extra stress from an unbalanced wheel.  You may not have been aware that a small bump to the curb had put your alignment off, or feel it when you drive, but leaving it “off” can lead to more serious and costly repairs than regular maintenance.

This young baby has been back for several follow up visits.  Each time he has gone home for a great sleep, and his parents report that he is less cranky.  Doesn’t that sound good for all of us in these times of stress, to be less cranky?  Make sure you get in for regular care, and take advantage of this month’s Tell-A-Friend promotion to refer your family and friends.
