Spring has sprung! The weather might not have totally caught up with this idea, but spring is HERE never the less! Spring is a time for new growth, to get rid of winter debris and make room for new life. It is a time to clean out the closets and bring out our brighter, summer clothes.

Why have I included 6 pictures of me with different beard styles you ask? Because I have cut off my winter beard so I can feel the sun on my face! In case I decide to re-grow the beard next winter, I thought I would allow you to vote on which style you like best. The winning style will be featured as my Facebook profile this month. Vote now by email and have going to Shaughnessy Wellness’ Facebook page and commenting under the beard picture’s post.  Make your voice heard! I don’t promise to grow the winning style next year- those braids take a long time to put in for style #5!

Spring is a tremendous time to declutter, and get rid of that which no longer serves us. (like my beard). It is a time to get into the garden and cut away the dead leaves that have protected our perennial plants through the winter cold, allowing the new green shoots to grow and blossom as they welcome the heat of the sun and moisture from the spring rains. We can do this in our own lives. Consider your habits and activities. Do they allow you to grow to be the person you want to be? Maybe this spring is a time to take a class, try a new sport or hobby.

In last year’s article at spring-time, we talked about the idea of detox and cleansing. (see April 2017). Spring is a good time to release the winter toxins that have built up in your body. Find out more at our workshop coming up on May 1.

As you do some literal spring cleaning, you might want to consider which products you are using for your cleaning. We are hosting a workshop on the use of essential oils for cleaning in order to reduce chemicals and “detox” your home. (Tuesday, April 24- see our newsletter for details).

Happy Spring to you and yours!
