I (Dr. Ivey) had a patient visit this month that came in straight from work.  She had retired from this job 8 months before, but she was covering her replacement for a week.  She told me it was remarkable how everyone there was, in her words, “vibrating in negativity”.  It was a stressful environment.  What stood out to her was that it had been like that when she worked there, but she was unaware of this at the time because she was “in the soup”.  (also her words).

Very often we can be in a stressful situation that is taking a toll on our health but we aren’t aware of the impact of that stress.  They say (and I have NOT tried this) that if you try and put a frog in a pot of boiling water, it will jump right out.  If you put a frog in a pot of cold water and turn up the heat slowly, it will stay in the pot until it is literally boiled alive!

Many of us are in stressful work or home environments.  Sometimes there is nothing we can do to alleviate that stress.  It is still important to recognize it so that you can take whatever steps are possible to manage the stress.  If you are oblivious to it, you may just be sitting there in the pot of boiling water .  Network Chiropractic helps you check in to where and how your body is holding stress and allows your nervous system to reset.  It gives a break to the sympathetic nervous system that may be in “fight or flight” mode and allows the parasympathetic nervous system to take over for “rest and restore”.  To learn more about Network Chiropractic, click on the frog picture above to watch a 3 minute video with Dr. Dave and Dr. Corey.

Make sure you get in for regular care to take care of your nervous system, so you can live your best life in the soup!
