I am often asked why I transitioned our office to Network Care. For 10 years after graduating from Chiropractic College I used a structural technique to adjust the spine and saw great results. This is actually just one of many different chiropractic techniques. In 1999 I was taking a post graduate course on a diagnostic computerized tool, the Insight 7000, when the doctor that was teaching said that the most amazing results they were seeing on scans were with Network Spinal Analysis. He wasn’t advocating one technique over another, but he commented on the dramatic results they were seeing. I had first heard about Network Care when I graduated in 1989, but I was not interested in pursuing it. How could those gentle touches accomplish anything<\/em>??? The instructor’s comments made me decide to be more open minded, so I went to a chiropractor and received Network Care myself, and I was amazed at the results in my body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is an analogy I use to explain it now. We all know people that carry a lot of tension in their shoulders so their shoulders are riding up around their ears. As their doctor, I could push their shoulders down for them, but they are just going to ride back up. I could give them muscle relaxants that make the shoulders relax, but when the drugs wear off, they are going to end up riding back up. I could massage the shoulders or electrically stimulate the muscles to make them relax, but if I don’t change the nerve supply to those muscles, when my treatment is over, in time the shoulders are going to work their way back to their location at the ears. Instead, if I tap the shoulders and help the patient recognize where they are carrying their tension, and get them<\/em> to drop the shoulders themselves, there will be a more profound change. This is a simplification of what we do with Network Care, but the concept is the same. We are teaching your body to release the tension itself, so you do not need to rely on me to “correct” you. There is an old expression. You can give a man a fish and feed him for a day. You can teach him to fish and feed him for his life.<\/strong> With Network Care, we are teaching you to fish. We are teaching you to recognize and release the stored tension patterns from your body. You are designed to be able to release a tension pattern when you recognize it- you will automatically shake out your hand after carrying a bunch of groceries. The problem is that we learn to ignore repetitive tension patterns, like carrying a heavy bag perpetually on one shoulder, so we don’t “see” that it is there any more, and we don’t try and let go of those tension patterns- we just store them. Network Care helps us find and release those stored patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
