phone 1 iconStep 1: Book your first appointment.
This visit will take one hour at our office. You may call our office (416) 494-7337 or email us to request a new patient appointment time. Let us know if this appointment will be for an individual, or if it is a family appointment, where the whole family will come together for the initial assessment.

This is a somewhat lengthy questionnaire that may take 15 to 20 minutes to complete. This is important, as it will help us to determine exactly what is going on with your health, and detectany underlying conditions with symptoms that you may not feel are related to a condition you have now. Answering these questions will also help you to take stock of your health, and notice trends and relationships between your life and your wellness.

You may complete the forms at our office before the first visit, or you may download and print the questionnaire to complete it at home. If you cannot print from your computer and the first appointment is not for several days, we can mail you a questionnaire if you give us your mailing address.

During this one hour appointment, after taking your history and discussing your health goals we will do an examination that may include:

  • Height and Weight
  • Digital Posture Assessment.   We will take digital pictures of your posture and analyze these for distortions.
  • examComputerized Thermography. Thermography uses an infra red laser to measure the skin temperature at each spinal segment. If there is a significant difference in the temperature from one side to the other, it means that there is a difference in the dilation of the blood vessels at that level. The same nerves that control this, the autonomic nerves, also control your other organs systems.   Levels showing imbalance may indicate an underlying problem in the function of these nerves.
  • Surface EMG This computerized test measures the muscle tension at each level of the spine- comparing you to “normal” for your age, height and weight, and looking for symmetry to check for muscle imbalance.
  • Bilateral Weight Scale Assessment. If you carry weight more on one side than the other, it may indicate distortion in your posture and your spine.
  • Physical Examination including range of motion, motion palpation of individual spinal segments and specific orthopedic testing.
